2017 China Health Statistical Annual Conference co-organized by Wuhan University and Sichuan University was recently held inWuhan. Shu Hongbing, Vice President of WHU attended the opening ceremony.
The annual conference was co-hosted by Chinese Health Information Association Health Statistics and Education Committee, Statistical Theory and Methodology Committee, Chinese Preventive Medicine Association Biostatistics Branch, International Biometric Society China. 112 organizations and near 700 people attended the conference.
At the opening ceremony, Huang Yunhu, President of Hubei Provincial Health Statistics and Information Society, Professor Meng Qun, Director of National Health and Health Statistics Committee, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of China Health Information Association, and Shu Hongbing, Vice President of WHU respectively addressed the conference.
During the keynote report, Professor Zhao Naiqing from Fudan University introduced two different control samples of the nest case-control study of RR estimation accuracy and its statistical methods. Professor Hao Yuantao from Sun Yat-sen University introduced the spatial quantification studies on the influence of meteorological factors on human’s health. Professor Yu Chuanhua from Wuhan University introduced the global disease burden research and its progress. Professor Zhou Xiaohua from University of Washington, USA specified the skills of writing and publishing of methodological papers in English journals.
The conference set up 4 sub-venues: "Statistical Method and its Application in Public Health", “Teaching and Reform of Health Statistics", "Clinical Trial Statistical Methods" and "Large Data and Life Group Analysis". A total of 59 reports covered the health statistics method and its application in various fields, providing opportunities of learning and exchanging ideas for talents present.
The conference also held a mentor forum; professors from different universities respectively gave report, sharing their experience, research results and innovative ideas with young scholars and postgraduates present. (Author: Song Min, Wu Xia)
