At the meeting, Yu Baoping, Xiong Ying, Vice Deans of WUSM, Zhao Yan, Vice President of Zhongnan Hospital and Bergman had a discussion on personnel training, scientific research, resident physician training, faculty training, and stated that the two sides would work together to make cooperation plans and sign the cooperation agreement when delegation of McGill University School of Medicine visit WUSM next year.

   Bergman spoke highly of WUSM’s international cooperation, teaching and research level, hoping to cooperate with WUSM in the future. At the same time, Yu Baoping said that McGill University School of Medicine is a world-renowned medical school, with whom WUSM intends to cooperate in joint postgraduate training, students’ exchange summer visits, and key disciplines seminar. WUSM hopes to learn experience from McGill University in distance education, family medicine and other aspects to enrich our curriculum system and improve the quality of medical education.

   It is reported that McGill University has made great achievements in the medical field, especially in cancer research, immunology, genetics, respiratory diseases and neurology. In July, Lu Qizhou, the president of the Canadian Association of Conference on Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Developing in China, vice president of Canada International Talent Association, and overseas member of Hubei Provincial CPPCC would invite H.Eidelman, Vice President of McGill University and Dean of School of Medicine to visit WUSM early next year as the two sides reached a preliminary intention on cooperation.
