On December 9, "Learning in China - The First Clinical Thinking and Skills Competition for International Students in China" was held in Tianjin. Four 2013 grade MBBS students from Second Clinical College participated in the competition on behalf of Wuhan University, winning the "Excellent Team Award" and the "Best Style Award” and "Obstetrics and Gynecology Individual Excellence Award”.
The competition was jointly organized by the China Higher Education Association International Students Education Branch and Tianjin Medical University, attracting more than 100 international students from 26 colleges and universities. The competition mainly examined students’ clinical thinking and skills in internal medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, first aid, while assessing their caring, teamwork and psychological quality.
Of the four contestants, three were from Malaysia and one was from Niger. The teachers of the Second Clinical College systematically trained and guided them before the competition. The competition not only provides an exchange platform for international students, but also promotes the development of overseas students’ education to some extent. (Translated by Song Min, Wu Xia)
