The Ministry of Education recently publicized the 2017 National Excellent Online Open Courses. The 4 courses of WUSM were selected: "Anatomy and Clinical Medicine" by Professor Tian Zongwen, "First Aid" by Professor Zhao Yan, and "Changes of Environment and Human Fertility" by Professor Yang Jing, and "Nutrition" by Professor Wang Suqing. For this time, a total of 24 online courses of Wuhan University were selected as the 2017 national excellent courses, ranking the second among domestic universities.

In order to promote the sharing of teaching resources of high quality courses, WHU provided financial support for curriculum design and video recording. Teachers were encouraged to actively carry out research on overturning classroom teaching and combine the advantages of both traditional and on-line teaching methods so as to continuously improve teaching and personnel quality.

Professor Tian took the etiology of common diseases, diagnosis and treatment as clues, to help students think, understand and memorize important knowledge of anatomy.

Professor Zhao taught first aid knowledge from cardiopulmonary resuscitation to on-the-spot rescue of trauma and acute abdomen, telling students how to protect themselves save others in emergency.

Professor Yang spoke about the relationship between the decline of fertility and (chemical, physical, biological and social) environment, showing the mysteries of reproduction.

Professor Wang indicated that diet is an important factor throughout life, and emphasized   the full use of existing nutrition knowledge to keep healthy by diet. 

WUSM will take the National Excellent Courses Selection as an opportunity to constantly improve the curriculum development and updating mechanism to further strengthen the construction of MOOC excellent courses and strive to create more high quality MOOC courses. (Translated by Song Min, Wu Xia)
