On the afternoon of August 28th, the WUSM Office and the International Exchange Department held a meeting to summarize the fruits of the visit to McGill University, Canada in July led by Feng Youmei, the Executive Vice President of WHU and discussed on further promoting the cooperation between the two schools in clinical training, personnel training, joint research.
The meeting announced the future plans on exchange and cooperation. In terms of student exchanges, the WUSM plans to send eight-year students and undergraduates from Basic Medicine to the McGill University laboratory for scientific research, and to receive medical students from McGill University for clinics practice at WUSM; on physician and talent training, much attention will be paid to promoting the remote training program in cooperation with McGill University, and actively recruiting its experts in neuroscience and family medicine to build "Academician Workstation" in People's Hospital and Zhongnan Hospital; in terms of scientific research, collaborative research will be conducted in the areas of comprehensive assessment of the elderly, senile epidemiology, psychiatry, neurology, and ophthalmology.
