March 22nd -March 24th, the 9th Session of the Chinese Medical Students Association was held at MUSM. More than 140 students from 16 higher medical colleges and universities including Peking University Health Science Center, Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University, Southern Medical University and etc. attended the meeting.

On 23rd, Professor Tang Qizhu, Member of Party Standing Committee of WHU, Vice President of WHU, Dean and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of MUSM; Yang Linqing, Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee; Yu Xiangting, Executive Vice Dean of WUSM, and Jiang Ming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of WUSM attended the opening ceremony.

Tang Qizhu introduced history and current situation of MUSM, and said that WHU has attached importance to the cultivation of humanistic quality and professional quality of the students. Professor Gui Xien, from Zhongnan Hospital of WHU, gave a special lecture titled “Talking about AIDS with College Students” and “Several Ethical Issues”. Professor Gui encouraged the students to study hard and become a considerate doctor.

At the closing ceremony on 24th, the Executives of the Chinese Medical Students Association reviewed the conference.
