November 15th, Seminar on Quality Evaluation of Standardized Training Seminar for Sino-American Residents was held in Wuhan University. Stanley J. Hamstra, Vice President of ACGME; Li Xiangdong, Member of the Party Committee of the Health Commission of Hubei Province, Director of the Office of the Provincial Health Committee; Lin Junjie, Director of the Department of Science and Education of the Health Commission of Hubei Province; Tang Qizhu, Member of Party Standing Committee of WHU, Vice President of WHU and nearly 300 people from China and the United States engaged in related work attended the meeting.
Yu Xiangting, Executive Vice Dean of MUSM, hosted the opening ceremony. Tang Qizhu delivered a speech that in the past 11 years, the medical education cooperation between Wuhan University and the University of Chicago has been deepening from medical undergraduate education to standardized training for residents. He hoped that this seminar will focus on the quality evaluation of resident standardized training, learn from the good experience and practices of the University of Chicago, study the problems existing in the quality evaluation of standardized training for residents in China with the consideration of the China’s reality, and continuously improve the quality of the work.
Li Xiangdong briefly introduced the development of standardized training for residents in our province and wished the conference a complete success.
At the seminar, Jia Mingyan, Stanley J. Hamstra, Consultant of CCGME-CMDA; Sun Baozhi, Former Vice President of China Medical University; Xie Xiaoyan, Academic Affairs Office of the Second Clinical Medical College of Southern Medical University; James N. Woodruff, Vice Dean of Pritzker School of Medicine, University of Chicago; Li Yan, Executive Vice President of Beijing University First Hospital; Renslow Sherer, Professor of Internal Medicine, University of Chicago; Jonathan Lio, Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine, University of Chicago, and Yu Baoping, Executive Vice Dean of MUSM made reports about “Building and Training Quality System”, “Residential Evaluation System”, “Physician Position Competency” and son on respectively.
