On June 18th, the teaching seminar of College Students Career Planning and Guidance was held in the 2nd meeting hall of West Administrative Building. Those who attended the meeting included Wang Shaoxiong, Deputy Chief of Employment Guidance Center of Wuhan University, Zhu Wei, Deputy Director of Office of Employment Guidance and Consultation of WuhanUniversity, Jiang Ming, Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of School of Medicine，Xiong Ying， Deputy President of School of Medicine，Yu Feng，Deputy Director of Teaching Management of School of Medicine, and all the teaching faculty. Xiong Ying hosted the meeting.
On behalf of all the teachers, Zhang Qing from HOPE School gave a talk during the course review section. She reviewed andsummarized the course contents and course management based on her experienceteaching the courses. She also gave some useful suggestions and advice. She believed that the course structure should be “five-in-one”—be student-centered,and combine theory, web-class, practice , consultation and edification/cultivation.
Lai Jing from School of Resource andEnvironmental Sciences shared her teaching experiences with others during the experience sharing section; Han Li from School of Basic Medical Sciences and Xu Hongyun from the Second Clinical School remarked on the works done on the Career Planning Proposal and Resume Designing; Liu Yanqing from the Second Clinical School shared what had been learned during the BCC course.
During the free discussion section, those who were present actively proposed their opinions about how to better the courses.
Yu Feng stressed the importance of following students’ feedbacks and remarks,hoping that the courses would get closer and closer to students’ real lives.
Zhu Wei spoke highly of the achievements the two courses- College Students Career Planning and College Students Employment Guidance-had made and answered relevant questions in detail.
Wang Shaoxiong further emphasized the necessity of the two courses due to the fierce competition in job market and proposed that employment rate should be presented in teaching practice. He mentioned it was of importance for teachers to increase their enthusiasm and professional skills in such courses.
Xiong Ying gave high praise to all the teacher who dedicated themselves in the courses , inspired them to go further ahead ,and told them not to be afraid of the challenges and difficulties ahead.
Jiang Ming summarized the meeting by putting that it was significant to set the two courses from the perspectives of society development and students’ cultivation. He affirmed the achievements the teachers had made and stressed the importance of interaction between teachers and students before, in, and after class. He proposed 4 suggestions, including presenting professional characteristics, emphasizing professional virtues,inviting experts to give talks, and setting up models. Meantime, he thanked the generous support from Employment Guidance Center of Wuhan University on behalf of School of Medicine. He put that no efforts would be spared to better the two courses!
