    School of Health Sciences Establishes Disaster Response Training Center

    Recently, School of Health Sciences established Disaster Response Training Center and at the same time held Year 2017 Wuhan City Disaster Care Academic Annual Meeting.
    Doctor Thomas KENYON, MD, President and CEO of the HOPE Foundation, Mr. James Dragon Consulate for News and Culture,US Consulate General in Wuhan, Professor Feng Youmei, Executive Vice President of the University, representatives of related departments, faculties and students attended the Foundation Ceremony.
    After the Foundation Ceremony, Professor of Surgery from Harvard University School of Medicine, Director of Massachusetts General Hospital International Traumatic Disaster Research Institute, Dr. Susan. Briggs, President of Rescue and Protection Branch China Medical Rescue Association, Dr. Fan Haojun, XVR virtual simulation founder, CEO, Mr. Stephen Lehman gave out lectures on “Global Disaster Response Current Situation and Trends”,” China 's Disaster Response to the Present Situation and Future”, and “Application of Virtual Simulation in Disaster Response Training”.
    In the following Disaster Response Training Workshop, three experts and representatives of Wuhan City Disaster Nursing Society, worked together with faculties and students of the Health Science School.
    According to reports, the Disaster Response Training Center is jointly sponsored by the Wuhan University School of Health Sciences (HOPE Nursing School) and the World Health Foundation, and applied to the American Social Health Association (ASHA) under the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The Center was approved in 2015, officially completed by the end of 2016, with a total investment of more than 700 million yuan, of which the US side sponsored 450,000 US dollars.
