From May 20th to 21st, the second session of the National Medical Health Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum was held in WUSM. With the theme of “The Cultivation and Development of Medical Students’ Innovative Spirit and Entrepreneurial Ability” ”The road to Employment and Entrepreneurship of Medical Students ", the forum attracted over 400 guests from the fields of medicine, education and business.
The forum was host by medical education branch of China Health and Family Planning Association of Ideological and Political work, and organized by Youth League Committee of School of Basic Medical Sciences. Wang Huaning, deputy secretary general of China Health and Family Planning Association of Ideological and Political work, and Shu Hongbin, vice president of WHU and academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences attended the forum and delivered speeches.
On May 20th morning, vice president Shu Hongbing delivered the welcome speech on behalf of WHU. He pointed out that young college students are the new forces to promote the strategy of "Public Entrepreneurship and Innovation". Carrying out entrepreneurial activities among college students are not only the important and effective initiatives to cultivate outstanding creative talents, but also a positive response to the national strategy of "Public Entrepreneurship and Innovation".
The National Medical Health Innovation and Entrepreneurship Forum is a platform of learning and communicating for nationwide medical students. The number of contributions and the size of participants have greatly increased compared with the previous one. More than 60 innovative entrepreneurial results from 14 university teams and individuals were submitted, and over 120 teachers and students from 15 universities participated.
On May 20th afternoon, awarded student representatives conducted a brilliant demonstration of innovative projects; on May 21st morning, three student representatives gave a report of the discussion results on topics such as entrepreneurial direction of medical students and the cultivation of innovative spirit of medical students. （Author: Wu Xia; Song Min)
