“Supported by strong arts and science disciplines, the medical development of Wuhan University is very promising." On June 5, academician Fan Dai Ming, who is the vice president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said when talked about to the development of WHU with President Dou Xiankang. On the same day, he also gave a lecture on Luojia Forum, sharing his academic research experience.

President Dou Xiankang sketched out the present situation and plans of the development of medical science in WHU, and introduced Professor Li Hongliang's research direction and scientific achievements during his meeting with Fan Daiming. Fan Daiming said that the development plan of WHU’s medical disciplines and Li Hongliang's research content coincided with the medical system theory and the integrated view that he advocated. He hoped that the two sides should cooperate with each other in the future.

After visiting the model animal institute, Fan Dai Ming came to the old school library and gave the 186th lecture of Luojia Forum, entitled "Medical System Theory and Integration View". He remarked that lack of integrated view, development view and medical view will lead to the disability of medical science through a large number of examples. The only solution is to integrate medical skills based on the facts of data and evidence, on the experience of knowledge and consensus, on technology and art, that is, Holistic Integrative Medicine.

Based on this, Fan Daming put forward the theory of "three health science", namely, space health science, human health science, time health science, advocating medicine’s return to the origin and the formation of a healthy medical research system. He stressed that integration of medicine is the certain direction of medical development.

Fan Daming is Dean of the Fourth Military Medical University Xijing Digestive Disease Hospital, Director of the State Key Laboratory of Tumor Biology and the National Center for Digestive Disease Clinical Medicine Research Center.
