On September 14, 2017 WUSM Freshmen’s Meeting was held in the gymnasium of WUSM. Feng Youmei, Executive Vice President of WHU and Dean of WUSM, leaders and directors of WUSM, presenters of "Liao Kangxiong Scholarship" "Wei Qizan Scholarship", "Undergraduates of 89 Scholarship", Colonel and Political Commissar of the 6th Regiment of military training attended the meeting. Yu Xiangting, Executive Vice Dean of WUSM hosted the meeting.
Feng Youmei firstly elaborated her understanding of medicine, that is, a broad outlook of health, of medicine, of talent. Feng said that medicine is not only diagnosis but also the treatment, epidemic prevention and life management of the patient. And WUSM is to provide conditions for all medical students to help students grow better. All the while, Feng wished all the students to value the time and establish themselves.
The teacher representative, Wang Zhiwei, who is the doctoral tutor of the first clinical college, and winner of "Golden Knife Award”, shared his life experience of becoming a doctor, wishing medical students to become a good doctor with cherishing and gratefulness for life. Then the student representatives Xie Mengjie and Zhou Yu respectively shared their feelings and resolutions of campus life.
Jiang Ming, Vice Secretary of the Party Working Committee of WUSM announced the list of "Liao Kangxiong Scholarship""Wei Qizan Li Xuejin" and "Undergraduates of 89 Scholarship". The sponsors Liao Kangxiong of "Liao Kangxiong scholarship" and Wei Qizhan of "Wei Qizan scholarship" awarded 19 students.
