Recently, 9 courses of WHU were recognized as the second batch of National Excellent Online Open Courses, among which “AIDS and I” of WUSM was selected. So far, the total number of National Excellent Online Courses selected by WUSM has been up to 5, accounting for 15.2% of the entire school.
The National Online Open Courses Recognition is aimed at implementing the spirit of the National Education Conference fully, adhering to the fundamental task of cultivating students, promoting the reform of tertiary education teaching, improving the quality of the higher education, and developing education equity. It is a significant step to create first-class curriculums.
“AIDS and I”, taught by Gui Xien, Xiong Yong, Cao Qian and Gao Shicheng, helps students understand the prevalence, knowledge and preventive measures of AIDS, from its current status, transmission routes, pathogens, diagnostic methods, clinical manifestations, treatments and etc., which lays a social foundation for eliminating AIDs and its related discrimination.
Since the construction of MOOC courses, WUSM has attached great importance to the sharing of teaching resources and encouraged teachers to carry out research on the teaching of flipped classroom. After that, WUSM will continue to develop and update its courses, strengthen the construction of MOOC excellent courses, and strive to create more high-level, innovative and challenging courses.
