On the morning of February 15, 2022, the inauguration ceremony of Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University Medical Research Institute, Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Basic Science Center for Pathogen and Host and Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Natural Immunity and Inflammatory Diseases Innovation Unit was held at Wuhan University School of Medicine. This milestone event marks the deep integration of strategic cooperation between Medical Research Institute and Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University.

Professor Zhou Yan, the Executive Director of Medical Research Institute, expressed his warm welcome to the leaders of Zhongnan Hospital, Office of Scientific Research and Development Wuhan University and Wuhan University School of Medicine, who attended the inauguration ceremony, and expressed his sincere thanks to Zhongnan Hospital, Office of Scientific Research and Development Wuhan University and Wuhan University School of Medicine for their support, and introduced the three projects bases to the attending guests.

Prof. Wang Xinghuan, the President of Zhongnan Hospital, highly praised the fruitful results of the cooperation between the two sides and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the faculty members of the two sides for their efforts. Academician Shu Hongbing, the President of the Medical Research Institute, reviewed the history of cooperation between the two sides and acknowledged the results and achievements since the integration of the two sides. Academician Shu Hongbing also expressed his gratitude for the efforts of all faculty members of both sides, and put forward plans and prospects for future development.
