20 candidates (or teams) gathered together and made presentations in turn. They unfolded their merits as many as possible by using different kinds of means, either by PPT or by the support of “outside help”. Their amazing presentations wan waves of applause among the judges and audience. The judges are made 22 teachers and 150 students from WHU, WUHSC and School of Basic Medical Science. After the breath-taking voting, those who wan the prizes of “Star of Xinglin” was revealed—Mao Tiebo and other 7 students (teams) wan the prizes of “Star of Xinglin” for the first time. He Minglun, student who was the in the class of 2012, and other 11 candidates were awarded as nominees.
It is reported that the evaluation of the first “ Star of Xinglin” lasts over two months, the 20 candidates (teams) in the final contest elected from the 46 candidates (teams) in the preliminary contest are outstanding students of medicine in the aspects of study, research, self-improvement, physical education, practice, teamwork, dedication, entrepreneurship, management and so on. This evaluation makes a good environment of competiveness and creativeness, and demonstrates a good example for the medical students.
