    WUSM Held the 5th Competition on Clinical Skills for Students Majored in Clinical Medicine

    On 14th December, WUSM held the 5th competition on clinical skills for students majored in clinical medicine successfully in WUSM Clinical Skills Center.


    As a specially invited expert, Professor Liu Wenli from Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science & Technology, served as the chief referee of the competition. Tang Qizhu, Vice President of WHU; Zhu Junyong, Deputy Director of the Teaching Affairs Division of the Undergraduate College; Ding Jialing, Director of Practical Teaching; the leaders from WUSM Management Organization, First School of Clinical Medicine and Second School of Clinical Medicine; teachers and students from MUSM observed the competition.


    Tang Qizhu delivered an opening speech in which he pointed out that medical colleges train talents for “Healthy China” construction and as medical students of WUSM, we should study hard, strengthen clinical thinking and improve comprehensive quality. The purpose of this competition is not to win prizes, but to learn from each other and make joint progress to promote learning in the future.

    Adopted by the track-style mode, the competition, focusing on clinical thinking, examines the basic skills of students as well as their comprehensive qualities such as teamwork spirit and humanistic care. After preliminary, semi-final and final rounds, the group from Second School of Clinical Medicine (Bai Xiaojie, Zuo Xin, Chen Hairen and Zhang Xi) won the first group award. 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 11 individual prizes have been conferred in the competition.


    After continuous exploration, innovation and development, the competition which becomes close to the clinical reality, has been an important learning and communication platform to show the daily teaching achievements of our school. Meanwhile, it has played an important role in promoting the reform of clinical practice teaching, strengthening the comprehensive quality of medical students and promoting the quality of cultivating students.
