After the epidemic broke out, Ding Hong, a professor and doctoral supervisor of the school, devoted herself to the epidemic work using her research results accumulated over the years. She used public account, WeChat group consultation, and "one-to-one" telephone guidance to provide services such as medication consultation, psychological counseling, medical guidance and even home delivery to patients. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, Ding often works late into the night and often receives calls for help in the early morning. She has patiently answered and assisted them all the way. She was referred by the patient as "the noble" and "the most beautiful professor". Deng Zixin, Dean of the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Liu Tiangang, professor and doctoral supervisor, coordinated and collected anti-epidemic materials. Currently, they have donated 15 tons, a total of 600 barrels of disinfectant, to Wuhan University clinics and Zhongnan Hospital. They also provided masks and other protective equipment to commandos on the front line, and are gathering another 150,000 masks. Wu Zejuan, deputy secretary of the party committee of the school, raised 5 tons of antiseptic solution for the medical school to help with the disinfection of the medical campus. Under the leadership of Party Secretary Wu Yan, the school formed a commando team of party members and went to the front line to assist the community service. The team conducted inspections and epidemic prevention and control in the community, helped residents to purchase daily necessities and distribute life supplies. Although associate professor Liu Jing of the school is not a party member, she is concerned with the school’s “epidemic” work, and volunteered to join the school commando team and contribute to the fight against the epidemic.

After returning to his hometown and after quarantine observation, the 2017 Ph.D. student Li Xianxian went to the front line of the community where he was responsible for distributing the living materials purchased by the residents and disinfection of the buildings. When the teacher asked him about her work, she would say, this is what party members should do, and there is no need to advertise. After returning home, Tang Liu, a PhD student in grade 2018, also provided services in the village, assisted in purchasing local supplies, and measured blood pressure for the villagers for free. At the time of the epidemic, the leadership, administrative, counsellors, class teachers, mentors, etc. of the school adhered to their positions and maintain close contact with the teachers and students of the school through WeChat / QQ, and telephone. The college has also been concerned about retired faculties, and carried out propaganda on the prevention and control of the coronavirus for them.

The ethnic minority undergraduates staying in Xinjiang have relatively large emotional fluctuations. The college has worked with multiple parties to keep abreast of student developments.
