    The 2021 Graduation Ceremony is Held for WHUers to Pursue for a Better Future

    On the morning of June 23, the 2021 graduation ceremony of Wuhan University was held as scheduled. More than 11,000 graduates and more than 5,000 parents of graduates gathered on the 9.12 stadium to celebrate this event. Members included all university leaders such as Han Jin, the Secretary of the WUH Party Committee President Dou Xiankang, and senior professors of humanities and social sciences such as Li Deren, Gong Jianya, Li Jiancheng, Xu Hongxing, Yu Kexun and so on.

    Hanjin presided over the graduation ceremony. After raising the national flag, playing the national anthem and welcoming the university flag, Qu Wenqian, the deputy secretary of the WHU Party Committee, announced the document of commending the graduates who voluntarily work in the western and remote areas. Zhou Yezhong, the vice president and vice chairman of WHU Academic Degree Evaluation Committee, announced degree awarding decision. The total number of students graduating from WHU this year reaches 13956, including 7084 undergraduates, 5672 postgraduates and 1200 doctoral students.

    Dou Xiankang hoped the 2021 graduates could understand where they start from, since it can inject inexhaustible energy; be clear eyed about where to go, then they will never be disoriented. He pointed out that WHU graduates should always integrate the personal struggle with national development and revitalization, and seek the direction of struggle, realize the value of life and move towards the foreseeable future in the current of the times. He hoped that WHU graduates go to the place where the country and the people are in dire need always with the motherland in mind as they move towards a promising future. They should also have the courage to innovate and rise to various challenges.
