On October 21, China-ASEAN Conference on Partnership in   Medicine and Health was held online. Tang Qizhu, the Vice President of Wuhan   University, attended the opening ceremony and the conference. The conference   was chaired by Zhang Ning, the Deputy Director of Peking University Health Science   Center and Director of the Office of Scientific Research, and Prapat   Wanitpongpan, the Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol   University. Leaders and experts from universities in China and ASEAN countries   attended the conference.

The two-day conference is a high-level platform for exchange   and cooperation between China-ASEAN institutions, which will help improve emergency   response capacity, better conduct joint prevention and control, promote the   construction of the treatment network and cooperation mechanism for regional   infectious disease, and inject new vitality into China-ASEAN health cooperation.

In order to promote China-ASEAN cooperation in the field of medicine, with the strong support of the China-ASEAN Center, Peking University Health Science Center took the lead in establishing China-ASEAN University Consortium on Medicine and Health in October 2019. Wuhan University, as the council of the consortium, plays an active role in all work. The Consortium aims to promote in-depth exchanges and cooperation between medical schools and healthcare institutions in China and ASEAN countries in the fields of medical education, medical research and healthcare. Thus, it can promote the common development of regional medical education and research, cultivate medical talents, improve healthcare, and serve the development of global healthcare.
